Description :
In this paper, the rate of rewatering and the eventual decant volume of the easternmost compartment (Gemsbokfontein) has been modeled. This area was selected because the dikes of this compartment have not been pierced by mining and are intact, although small volumes of groundwater are leaking through fissures. These volumes are, however, known, which makes it possible to study the Gemsbokfontein compartment as an isolated case study, in order to determine the time of rewatering as well as the eventual decant volume.
