Description :
Traditional flood plain farming was well adjusted to the natural, social and economic conditions during the Middle Ages. However, this system was desintegrated during the Ottoman rule, and later changes in the world economy. As a consequence of the river regulation works during the 18th and 19th century ecological disadvantages appeared in wetlands. - (JS)
