The article deals with the development of cartography at Charles University in Prague. Its development is monitored from the time of oldest konw map by Vavřinec of Březová, dating from the beginning of the 15th century. A special attention is paid to the development after 1920, when Faculty of Science was established at Charles University. Cartography has been always a part of geography. - (EN)
