This paper presents the interactions between land-use changes and the types and intensities of morphological processes on slopes and in river channels in the Kłodzkie Sudety Mountains. Two opposing trends to land-use changes within historical times can be noted - an intensification of agriculture lasting for several centuries up to the end of the 19th century has been replaced by a still-ongoing trend towards depopulation and the abandonment of arable fields in the upper parts of mountain valleys. The secondary vegetational succession on former arabe land is modifying morphological processes. Land-use changes have been reflected in both relief forms (agricultural terraces) and sediments (anthropogenic colluvia and alluvia). Possible further trends to environmental changes in the Sudety Mts., as related to the changing socio-economic background, are also presented. - (BJ)
