A drag coefficient equation for natural, irregularly shaped particles

Description :
A formula that predicts the drag coefficient CD for a natural, irregularly shaped particle is presented. Particle shape is defined as a combination of particle flattening (measured by the Corey Shape Factor CSF) and particle rounding (measured by the Powers Index P). The formula is tested in a series of settling experiments and its validity seems to be very high.
