Description :
Certain hydrologic and climatic changes rather typical when coming from taiga to tundra also occur about the outskirts of Nordic fjeld regions. The most important climatic factor is the sufficiency of summer heat for forests controlling the one-peaked summer maximum of runoff, the most distinct hydrologic criterion for tundra and fjelds.
