In this paper a new physico-climatic classification based on the Relative Strain index (Lee and Henschel) is described. The index number indicates the degree of thermal strain for man under postulated climatic and physiological conditions. The equation integrates the variables air temperature, vapour pressure and air movement as well as the nonmeteorological factors metabolic rate and clothing. ...
