Description :
The technique of numerical models of shoreline changes is illustrated by a model of headland erosion in which the sand is transported to an adjacent embayment. This leads to a consideration of the graded shoreline, whose curvature in plan view is adjusted in such a way that the waves impinging on the shore provide precisely the amount of energy required to transport the load of sediment supplied to the beach.
