Tectonic geomorphology at a plate boundary : a transect across Hawke Bay, New Zealand in The geomorphology of plate boundaries and active continental margins.

Auteur :
BERRYMAN, K.

Description :
In a transect across northern Hawke Bay from the Hikurangi Trench to the Taupo volcanic Zone there are four major tectonic domains, an accretionary slope, a forearc basin, a frontal ridge, and a backarc basin. Within each of these, landform characteristics can be related either directly or indirectly to tectonic processes. The whole region is geologically youthful and rates of both tectonic and consequent erosional processes are rapid.
