Slope evolution on a flight of marine terraces in south Taranaki, New Zealand in The geomorphology of plate boundaries and active continental margins.

Auteur :
PILLANS, B.

Description :
Detailed measurement of slope profiles in the terrace-front valleys of south Taranaki demonstrates very little change in mean slope angle up to 300,000 years. This paper also tests a modified version of the model of Chappell (1974) using these slope data but it is difficult to verify the predicted importance of solution, corrosion and mass movement processes in the slope model (30 %, 20 %, 50 % respectively).
