The Central European terrestrial biostratigraphic system is reviewed with a consequent revision in terminology. A time table shows the supposed correlations of the adopted terrestrial time-taxons with the mediterranean marine biochronology/biostratigraphy, the Eastern Paratethys system and North American terrestrial mammal evolution.
