Description :
The AA. show that different firms and sectors can become more or less central to an industry or a whole economy. Lancaster's industrial structure did not lead to an expansion as it might have been expected to| but the area was de-industrialized. It is necessary in order to understand industrial change, to uncover the overlapping mechanisms and processes of spatial restructuring by which this occurs.
