The study analyses the development at the end of the 19th century and in the first half of the 20th century which was characterised with significant decline of fertility under growing nuptiality. A fundamental occurred around 1900 when almost in all regions the level of fertility began to decline sharply. Fertility decline was finished in principle before the end of the World War II. (MS).
