Description :
A very active erosive process implying a rapid coastal retreat and the destruction of the beaches has been taking place during the last decades. Coastal retreat rates have been estimate for 14 stations. Several eustatic factors are to be considered in relation to the erosive process. Destructive effects are directly associated to high energy situations implying sporadic rises in sea-level. On the other hand, defence works influence coastal development by modifying the regional sedimentation balance.
