Description :
Results are presented for the thermoluminescence behaviour of sands from various geological contexts in Brazil. They show that the coarse ( 100-200 m) quartz fraction of coastal and intra-continental, eolian and fluvial-type deposits, might be datable by thermoluminescence from the Upper Holocene to at least the beginning of the Upper Pleistocene, with a precision of 10-15 %.
