Reinterpretation o a Late Pleistocene moraine in the Lemhi Mountains of Idaho, U.S.A.

Auteur :
BUTLER, D. R.

Description :
A deposit in a small valley in the Lemhi Mountains, formerly interpreted as Pleistocene (Pinedale) glacial moraine, is reinterpreted in the light of intensive field examination. Glacial and sturzstrom hypotheses of origin for the boulder deposit are examined and rejected. The deposit is attributed to ice-cored rock glacier development during the Late Pleistocene, and subsequent stagnation in the early Holocene.
