The author didn't try to sum up the previous work on the French tourist regions, but aimed, from diversified statistical data, to introduce a rational regionalization at the level of the whole country. The accomodation capacity and its different forms of lodging, the rate of tourist function, and when that revealed possible the frequenting, have been held| the accepted level is the department. The set-off between the coasts, the mountains, the region of Paris and the remains of the country are very definite. (JPD).
