Description :
Study of alluvial deposits interstratified in paleolithic sequence at the site of Blot has revealed that the river Allier underwent a period of sedimentation during the Late Glacial Period (Late Würm) corresponding to seasonal flooding, followed by vertical erosion during the Postglacial Period (post Allerod) which resulted in both the formation of a valley, about ten meters deep, and the throwing up of a lower terrace.
