A summary of the archaeological and historical datings concerning the reclamation of the peatbogs, the formation of the Younger Dunes, sedimentation, erosion and lake formation. The size of the areas, in which these changes in the physical environment took place was estimated, these enabled us to demonstrate the differences in the effects of these events on the society.
