Description :
The principal feature of the main anticline area of Ardenne is the right handed lateral shearing fault of La Carbonnière-Opont spreading over a distance of more than 60 km long with an horizontal offsetting reaching 15 or 18 km. It is a hercynian event older than metamorphism, cleavage and folding but earlier than transverse faulting. (L'A.).
