Description :
A classification of vegetation periods from the ratio of the number of large positive and negative anomalies is presented. The value of 1.2 is accepted as a criterion of a large anomaly. Four classes of vegetation periods is singled out, and an attempt is made of forecasting these classes with the aid of the linear discriminant analysis. Evaluations of verification score of the classification exceed the evaluations of a random classification. The mean verification score is equal to 0.70 (for a random classification 0.56), while the probability of an accurate forecast of a class is 0.48 (for a random classification 0.25). The independence hypothesis of factual and prognostic classes is rejected with the aid of a criterion with a 5 % significance level. (Ed.).
