Description :
The genetic relationship of these lower sand-silty terraces with the in-situ loesses of plateau and the colluvial loesses of slopes is shown by sedimentological criteria (progressive disappearance of the clayey/fine silty fraction of the initial loessic stock| relative concentration of the detrital palygorskite proportion in the fluviatile terrace sediment). The emplacement of these terraces is in good agreement with the palaeoenvironmental holocene evolution of southern Tunisia.
