Mental maps and spatial variations in residential desirability: a Barbados case study
Auteur :POTTER, R. B.
Description :
The mental maps of a sample of 207 residents of Barbados are analysed. A major contrast is revealed between the low imageability of the northern parishes and the enhanced desirability of the south-western coastal strip, especially the Christ Church area, using graphical, correlation and regression analyses of mean residential desirability scores. The implications of the findings for physical development planning are assessed. (MPM).
