Wave spectrum analysis of height fields at 100 MB over the northern hemisphere.

Data of January, April, July, and October are taken to represent the four seasons in this analysis. For the 100 MB surface, the latitudinal deviation and amplitude at both high and low latitudes change greatly in a year. The maximum deviation appears at 60 N in January, April and October, and at 30 N in July. The circulation characteristics of October is more similar to winter patterns when compared with those of April. The position of trough and ridge lines for 100 MB surface oscillates in a E-W direction during the year. (TNC).
