In the permafrost zone of Eastern Siberia gently inclined cryopediments'due to frost shattering, cryogenic slope development, derasion and nivation'are common. The cryopediments, although primarily formed in the Pleistocene, continue to develop under the present-day climatic conditions, too. (DLO).
