The vegetational and climatic changes in the Zhenjiang Region since 15 000 years B.P.

Auteur :
XU, Xin

Description :
The palaeobotanical development and palaeogeographic environment changes in this region is reconstructed based on pollen analysis of a 37.5 m drilling core. Sea level and climatic changes are related to rate of sedimentation. The climate around 11 000 B.P. was warm corresponding to rise of sea level and increased sedimentation, suggesting a demarcation between the Late Pleistocene and the Holocene. The sea reached its highest level during 8 900-6 300 B.P. Between 5 000-4 300 B.P. the climate was warm and subtropical plants propagated. (TNC).
