Des villes comme Alice... Conflits de races, conflit de classes en Australie aborigène

Auteurs :
DRAKAKIS-SMITH, D.
ANTHEAUME, B.

Description :
Australian Aborigines have suffered from exploitation by white Australians since the British first arrived almost two hundred years ago. Throughout this period there have been several changes in the articulation process of both modes of production. In each stage, ethnic discrimination has played an important role in justifying economic exploitation, but since 1950 the process has begun to involve a deeper class conflict. The A. examines the evolution of such relationships in the setting of Alice Springs, one the major urban centres of Aboriginal Australia.
