The authors recall selected criteria for identification and figuration of hydromorphic survey properties. Brief analysis of hydromorphic soil sequences for which a classification according to presumed well established pedogenic criteria, would have lead to a false interpretation with respect to their real present functioning and ecological properties. The Belgian soil map is not a goal in itself but a basic tool for reclamation and scientific investigation.-(D'après les AA.).
