With respect former published facts and field work by the author the hitherto known olistostromatic formations in the Saxo-Thuringian zone and adjacent areas are compiled. The term olistostromatic formations means the totality of subaquatic mudstream deposits. In the Saxo-Thuringian zone such resedimented rocks are already developed in the early Proterozoic and in late Paleozoic. Their frequency increased in the late Devonian-early Carboniferous times, changing into a Wildflysh. (HL).
