Auteur :
DEMEK, J.

Description :
Research in Czechoslovakia supports the view that thick permafrost was present in Central Europe during some cold phases of the Pleistocene. Periglacial features can be used to estimate temperature increase since then/about 15 C for lowlands and about 1 to 2 C for the high mountains by author/. Permafrost developed as early as in the Lower Pleistocene/700,000 y. B. P./in the area of Central Europe. (DLO).
