Aerodynamical properties of an air layer affected by vegetation

Auteur :
HAYASHI, Y.

Description :
Over fexible vegetation cover during windy conditions, a coupling of the airflow and the vegetation takes place, building up the waving form of the canopy surface and producing streamlining and fluttering phenomena. The investigation of the aerodynamic properties, varying with wind speed is based on measurements carried out at the heat and water balance observation field in the Environmental Research Center between 1978 and 1980. The validity of theoretical relationships between the canopy and the wind is verified.
