An indirect approach to estimating congestion tolls for recreation facilities

Auteur :
HUSKEY, L.

Description :
The A. examines the appropriate welfare maximizing solution to the problem of congestion at recreation sites. We show that a toll can be found which will equate the private and social costs of a recreation trip. The toll for any park may differ because of the characteristics of the park, the alternatives available, and the type of user. A system of tolls is found based on a recreation demand function estimated using the traditional travel cost approach.
