Description :
This paper presents a computer-assisted design system for geographical maps. The system comprises mainly a geographical map editor. The geographer can use the editor to construct maps, then modify, store, retrieve, or delete them. It is also possible to store and retrieve specific types of geographical features such as lakes, rivers, or cities. It is very easy to produce a number of different maps in a very short time. The geographes may also enter a map into the computer by using a digitizer and the output may be obtained on paper by use of a dot printer and a digital plotter.
