Magnitude and frequency properties of dissolved solids transport

Auteur :
GUNN, J.

Description :
The present paper tabulates and compares the results from 15 studies involving 24 drainage basins, for which data on magnitude/frequency aspects are provided or can be inferred. The results suggest that the importance of medium to high flows in solute load transport has been underestimated. However, the low discharge period is important in the transport of dissolved material and this is in marked contrast to its very minor role in the transport of suspended sediment and bed load.
