Regarding its absolute dimensions the Hungarian iron and steel industry takes a modest place among socialist countries but in the orientation of site, in the alteration of production structure it reflects the world-wide tendencies. The intensive reconstruction was necessitated from the early sixties because the old plants were operating a number of obsolete and physically worn equipments. (CK).
