Intermittent aridity in the Great Hungarian is an uncongenial characteristic of our climate for agricultural production. The analysis shows that in the southern part of the G. H. P. the upper 1 m of the soil requires irrigation from midsummer onwards in 75-80 % of the years examined. (CK).
