The AA. look at the way in which Dutch planners have been able to respond positively to changing trends in the development of the IJsselmeerpolder scheme. There has been a major move away from the provision of agricultural land to the use of virgin polderland for urban development and recreational facilities. The new towns Lelystad and Almere have both the take overspill population from the Randstad. (AGD).
