Quantitative methods are becoming indispensable in scientific research. The authors confronted geographical principles /agricultural typology/ with the quantitative methods| they have analyzed the subjectivity in grouping observation units, the generalization of the taxonomic method. New methods /ORLINE, Gravity, Farell, IDVER/ are described.
