The fossil soils of the coastal dunes on the eba Bar and their paleogeographical interpretation

Auteur :
TOBOLSKI, K.

Description :
The fossil soils of the eba Bar record three different phases of forest vegetation. The oldest soils developed in oak (climax) forests. An expansion of beech forests took place about 1900 years ago, and the development of pine forests started about 1500 years ago. Three generations of dunes are distinguished and reasons for the activation of Late Holocene dunes and some paleoecological problems are discussed. (D'après l'A.).
