Description :
After the turbulent period of formation and extension of the Wadden Sea an extension which on some places has been promoted by the peat-digging. Gradually the rate of changes of the Wadden area slowed down because the rate of sedimentation decreased and on the other hand, man protected the embanked land more successfully against the sea.
