Description :
Paleoclimatic reconstructions of sea surface temperature and surface air temperature for the 18000 BP period, drawn from work by others, are considered. It is suggested that essentially all of the temperature differences between 18000 BP and the present may be accounted for if wind speeds were higher at 18000 BP. An independent meteorological argument suggests that winds may have been stronger by about 24 % in the Northern Hemisphere in winter and by about 124 % in summer.
