Description :
Zones of winterhardiness of trees in Europe are presented here just as they have been known for many years in the United States. In the same manner annual mean minimum temperatures of the air have been used. The 10 F ranges for each hardiness zone have been expressed in terms of degrees Celsius. In addition one more chart of 5 F intervals has been drawn for the regions of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic.
