Description :
Spatial development in Bulgaria can be described as interaction between industrial and urban growth. Hence the effective spatial structure of the productive forces is dependent on the optimal integration of these factors. To measure the level of integration four criteria were used: increase of industrial employment, urban population, capital investment in industry and in social infrastructure, between which correlation coefficients were calculated. The national urban policy was realised on a macroregional level, while essential deviations exist between districts.
