Description :
Extensive continental glaciations were probably the most vivid events in the history of the Earth's climate. The detailed analysis of pre-cambrian Tillites and Tilloids permits to obtain a conception of the pattern and scales of the ancient glaciations. They turn to be rather similar to the pattern and scale of the last and better studied glaciation. Despite differences of the environmental conditions the causes of the ancient glaciations may be analogous to the causes of the last one (as their patterns are). To verify the thesis paleogeographic reconstructions of the eras more ancient than the Phanerozoic needed.
