Snehova pole na ceské strane Krkonos. (Snow patches on the Czech side of Krkonose-Giant Mountains)

Description :
The existence of summer snow patches in Krkonose Mountains is controlled particularly by accumulation of snowfall, by favourable wind conditions, field location, and rarely also by avalanche activity. Other decisive factors are the altitude (1300-1500 m), favourable microclimate and inpart the different rock composition of the beneath the patches. The nivation activity of snow patches contributes to postglacial morphological development.
