The paper deals with the questions of distribution and formation of recent sedimentary formation of Dzheiranbatan reservoir, and the rate of their accumulation. It is of great value under submitting for consideration the questions of reservoir silting. Conducted investigations based on granulometric, mineral, chemical and physico-mechanical analysis of bottom sediments allow use on their example to prove scientifically the relationship in the distribution and formation of bottom sediments with hydrodynamical conditions, relief of the floor, physico-chemical and chemical-biological processes, which took place in the reservoir.
