Forced by the energy situation we have to pay more attention to our waterways. The realization of the Danube-Rhine connection and the decreasing passage capacity of the Danube between Pozsony and Gonyü, due to aggradation, make the earliest possible construction of the Bos-Nagymaros barrage system very important. Prospectively this will be connected with the Danube-Tisza canal, which is important not only for transport but also in respect to the long-range water-supply of the Tisza Valley. (C. Kiriczi).
