Zwiazki korelacyjne miedzy parametrami morfometrycznymi zlewni. (Correlation analysis of basin morphometry parameters)

DOBIJA, A.

Description :
Different parameters of basin morphometry: elevation, size, shape and slope were compared, using correlation analysis, to selected optimal indices for modelling hydrological processes. Five from these indices were estimated independently, the remaining result from them. The close correlation exists between most of interrelated indices. To describe basin elevation, index of median basin elevation is proposed, however other simple indices, calculated from extreme elevations only, can be used. Maximum basin length is a better estimator of absolute basin size than basin area. The best index to characterize mean basin slope is Strahler's relief ratio. It can be treated also as the most complex parameter of basin relief. (d'après l'A.).
