Ownership changes and long-range development Strategies in Foreign investment in industrialized countries.

Auteurs :

Description :
Canada's current industrial difficulties have been attributed in part to excessive foreign control, and yet the inflow of companies was induced by national policy. One city, Hamilton, Ontario, is examined during the formative 1871-1921 period. Its experience illustrates the scale of ownership changes that may take place in a short period of time, and the way in which a city can retain a degree of local control during the process.
