Zur pleistozänen Entwicklung des Main-Kinzig-Kahl-Gebietes. (About the Pleistocene development of the Main-Kinzig-Kahl area)

Auteur :
SEIDENSCHWANN, G.

Description :
The study aimed at finding out, whether the above mentioned area showed a relief-development, that could be compared with the Lower and Middle-Main-Areas. Central question was, in which way the thick Lower Pleitstocene accumulation sequence of the basin areas is continued into the neighbouring border mountains, especially with regard to the morphological position of the Hauptterrassen, which are presumedly older than the valley aggradation. As well in the Kinzig as in the Kahl-valley a polycyclic accumulation sequence of the Lower Pleistocene could be evidenced. The terracelike forms situated above the valley aggradation, which had been frequently interpreted as Hauptterrassen, are now explained as Upper Pliocene levels. (l'A.).
